Notes for William H

The Northern Champion: 2nd May 1931. Mr William
Minns.
In the passing of Mr
William Minns on Monday evening last, at Carlyle private
hospital,
Wingham, another old
pioneer was lost to the Upper Manning.
Sixty seven years ago, Mr
Minns...then a boy of
6...came to the Manning with his father, Mr Walter Minns, from the
Williams River, to the farm at Marlee, on which the
deceased was living when the seizure which
caused his death overtook
him. Mr Minns had lived his whole
life on the Little Dingo...except
for a short sojourn at
Khatabundah and in Wingham. He was
a well-known and respected
figure. Some years ago he married
Belle, the second daughter of Mr and Mrs A.E. Wallis, of
Khatabundah, near Wingham,
by whom he had 2 daughters...both of whom, with their mother
survive. His brother (Mr Robert Minns) and his
sister (Mrs C. Chapman), predeceased him.
Miss A. Minns, of Farquhar Street,
Wingham, is a sister. Interrment
was in Marlee cemetery
beside his
sister
Kate, (Mrs Chapman). There was a
representative gathering at the funeral.
