Graham:
Gordon enlisted with the
A.I.F. on the 2nd February 1917 at Sydney. He is described
as 5ft 5 1/2in. 138lbs with a
Fair complexion, Grey eyes and Brown hair. Gordon saw
service in France where he
was transferred to the 2nd Battalion. He was wounded (gun
shot wound right shoulder
front body) in action on the 24th June1918. He rejoined his
unit on the 4th August 1918.
Gordon was evacuated and admitted to the 3rd Australian
Field Ambulance. He was
discharged from Hospital to duty on the 2nd August 1918.
He was then wounded (gun shot
wound right shoulder, hand and thigh) in action a 2nd
time, in action in the field on
the 23rd August 1918 he was invalided to the UK and
admitted to the 5th Southern General
Hospital. Gordon returned to Australia on the
23rd March
1919 and
was discharged from service on the 16th April 1919
