of William Apps (Alice's father William) and Maria Brucker.  She was born 15 Feb 1856 in

Razorback, New South Wales, and died 04 Dec 1912 in Cawdor, New South Wales. 

He married (2) Emily Veness 13 Mar 1916 in Cawdor, New South Wales, daughter of William

Veness and Eliza Smart.  She was born 09 Dec 1867 in Camden, New South Wales, and died 11

Sep 1945 in Camden, New South Wales.

Family moved from Cawdor to "Rosleigh" Cargo 1896/97, grew wheat & raised sheep at

Canowindra. Returned to Cawdor in 1908. At one time James was Sunday School Superintendant

at Cawdor Wesleyan Church & a member of Sons of Temperance.

James was a signatory on the 1894 Petition to the Postmaster General, together with most of the

residents of Cawdor, requesting a Post Office be established in Cawdor.

Frederick enlisted with the A.I.F. on the 6th September 1915 at Sydney. He is

described as 5ft 10 1/2in. with a Fair complexion, Brown eyes and Brown hair.

Frederick saw service in Egypt where he was hospitalised in January 1916 with

Influenza and and septic hand (2nd Aux. Hospital, Cairo). France where he was

attached as a Driver to the 10th Company A.S.C. . Frederick returned to Australia on

the 8th September 1919 and was discharged from service on the 31st October 1919.
