Arthur enlisted with the A.I.F. on the 6th November 1915 at Lismore, New South Wales. He is

described as 5ft 8 1/2 in. 10st. with a Fair complexion, Greyish eyes and Light Brown hair. Arthur

saw service in France where he was appointed as Lance Corporal on the 1st November 1917.

Arthur returned to Australia on the 16th September 1919 and was discharged on the 31st October

1919.
