Jackson:
George first enlisted with
the A.I.F. on the 4th february 1916 at Paterson, New South
Wales when he wsa
discharged as under age on the 5th April 1916. (His mother,
Charlotte, had provided
written consent for her son to join).
He then re-enlisted on the
9th August 1916 at
Kempsey, New South Wales. (Charlotte again provided
written
consent). He is described as
5ft 7 1/4in. 8st 5lbs with a Fair complexion, Blue eyes and
Fair hair. George saw service in
Belgium where he was killed in action
on the 28th
October 1917, two weeks
after having arrived in the field.
WILL "I, George Henry
Jackson Regimental Number 3207. serving in 1st Pioneer
Battalion of the Australian
Imperial Force do hereby revoke all former Wills made by
me and declare this to be my
last Will. I devise and bequeath all my real estate unto
absolutely, and my personal
