Edward enlisted with the A.I.F. on the 19th February 1916 at Kempsey but was

discharged as Under Age. He then re-enlisted with the A.I.F. on the 28th September

1916 at Kempsey, New South Wales. He is described as 5ft 5in. 8st 12lbs with a Dark

complexion, Hazel eyes and Brown hair. Edward saw service in France where he was

wounded (gun shot wound knee) in action in the field on the 24th August 1918. He was

invalided to the UK and admitted to the Dorset Military Hospital on the 8th

September 1918. Edward returned to Australia on the 19th May 1919 and was

discharged from service on the 3rd September 1920.

Carl enlisted with the A.I.F. on the 9th November 1916 at the Show Ground Camp,

Sydney. He is described as 5ft 3 3/5in. 132lbs with a Fair complexion, Blue eyes and

Fair hair. Carl saw service in France where was admitted to hospital with Trench Fever.

He was transferred to England and admitted to the 3rd A.A.H. Dartford. Carl returned

to Australia on the 8th June 1918 and was discharged from service on the 6th

November 1918.
