Paterson died on the 12th December in 1902 (16350) and an
inquest
reveals that he died "at the
5 mile peg on the Warialda, Gragin Rd, on his property as a
result of poisiong, self
administered. His death certificate
shows that he is buried in the
cemetry in Warialda, however
the burial records at the cemetry do not show he was buried
there. In the 1902 drought
1,000,000 of the total 1,450,000 sheep
died. This drought was
considered one of
Australias greatest
disasters.
