MR. A. M.
GILL
Mr. Aden
Macleay Gill, a well-known and very highly respected resident of Boambee and
one-
time
of the Nambucca, died on Saturday
last after a long and very tiring illness. He was 62 years of age.
A sufferer
from cardiac ashma, deceased has been in a very precarious state of health for
some
time. He went
to Moree and took a course of the hot baths treatment a year or two ago. He
appeared to
be improving on his return, but permanent relief was not possible. He has since
remained at
his home at Boambee, carefully tendered by his devoted wife, and the end came,
as
stated, on
Saturday last.
The widow and
three sons survive, and we understand there are also a couple of
daughters.
Deceased was
a man of “exemplary character, always pleasant to meet, and one who made
friends
and no enemies. Much of his lifetime has been lived
at Boambee and Argents Hill, on
the
Nambucca. He moved to Argents Hill a
few years ago, but after a time returned to his
property at
Boambee.
The funeral
was at Coffs
Harbour Cemetery on Sunday morning. Deceased was a
devoted
member
of the Reorganised Church of Latter
Day Saints, and Mr. Vaughan, a pastor of that
denomination,
came over to conduct the funeral,
assisted by Mr. Kelsey, also of the Nambucca.
Mr. C. H.
Everingham carried out the funeral
arrangements.

Seagrott:
Newspaper (?) - 23rd July
1943
MR. WILLIAM THOMAS
SEAGROTT
The death occurred in the
hospital on Saturday afternoon of Mr. William Thomas
Seagrott, at the age of 44
years. Mr. Seagrott had been in charge of Mr. J. Raymond's
property, "Hampton Court" for about five years on the
share farmer principle. He
was a conscientious faithful
worker in all that he undertook, and was a good and
helpful member of the
community. He had been a sufferer from heart trouble for some
time. Prior to coming to
Bellinger district he had resided in the Nambucca district for
some years. He was a married
man and leaves a sorrowing wife and five children. He
married Miss Scrivener, of
Nambucca. Two brothers and a sister were present at the
funeral yesterday. Mr.
Seagrott was a man who believed always in doing his duty, and
giving his best - not only
that which was asked of him - but something over. A hard-
working, conscientious man
has gone to his rest in the prime of life. The funeral
yesterday was well attended,
after a service in the Anglican Church. Several beautiful
wreaths were laid on the
coffin. The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Mrs. A.
A.
White.
