Notes for Frank Victor Reading:

Frank enlisted with the A.I.F. on the 2th May 1915 at Liverpool, Sydney. He is

described as 5ft 8in. 136lbs with a Medium complexion, Hazel eyes and Medium

Brown hair. Frank saw service in Egypt and France where he was promoted to Lance

Corporal on the 15th February 1916 and to Corporal on the 5th March 1916. Frank

was wounded (gun shot wound leg) in action in the field on the 16th August 1916. He

was transferred to England and admitted to the Wharncliffe War Hospital,

Middlewood, Shefield ont the 24th August 1916. Frank was promoted to Temp.

Sergeant in June 1917. He returned to Australia on the 20th November 1917 and was

discharged from service on the 19th May 1918

Frank enlisted with the Permanent Forces A.M.F.. on the 8th October 1918 at Sydney.

He is described as 5ft 9in. 147lbs with a Fair complexion, Hazel eyes and Fair hair. In

November 1918 he completed a 12 day course on Musketry Training at the A.I.F.

Musketry School, Liverpool, Sydney and the Twenty-Four day Special Instructional

Training Course at the A.I.F. Training School, Liverpool.  Frank was employed as a

Temporary Instructor at the Special School of Instruction with the rank of Acting Staff

Sergeant Major. From the 22nd August 1919 to 20th November 1919.

Frank re-enlisted with the Permanent Forces A.M.F.on the 8th April 1920 at Moree,

New South Wales.
