Notes for Paul Leo Northrop:

Paul enlisted with the A.I.F. on the 20th August 1914 at Randwick, Sydney. He

is described as 5ft 7 1/2in. 10 st. 6lbs with a Fair complexion, Grey eyes and

Brown hair. Paul saw service in Gallipoli (8 months) and Egypt. He was

admitted to No. 2 General Hospital with Influenza on the 7th January 1916  He

was transferred to the 2nd Southern War Hospital with Battle Cardiac Disease.

A notation on his file from the No. Aux. convalescent Depot states "An

ANZAC without any trouble from day of Embarking to evacuation on Dec

20th."  Paul was invalided to Australia on the 30th March 1916 and discharged

at Sydney as Medically unfit due to Cardiac Disease on the 25th May 1916.

Paul's condition was put down to his Active Service - Climate and Exposure

Notes for Richard John Whiticker:

Richard enlisted with the A.I.F. on the 4th February 1915 at Liverpool, Sydney. He is

described as 5ft 8in. 140lbs with a Fair complexion, Green eyes and Light hair. Richard

saw service in Egypt and then France where he was wounded (gun shot wound right

foot) in action on the 27th July 1916. He was transferred to England and admitted to

the 3rd Western General Hospital and The Horton (County of London) War Hospital,

Epsom. On the 1st June 1917 he was appointed as Driver and in October 1917

transferred back to France with the 18th Battalion. In January 1918 he was admitted to

hospital with Trench Fever, severe and transferred to England and admitted to the

Guildford War Hospital. After recovery, he again rejoined his Battalion in France on the

1st June 1918. During October 1918 he was awarded leave in Paris. Richard returned to

Australia on the 5th July 1919 and was discharged from service on the 3rd September

1919

James enlisted with the A.I.F. on the 31st March 1916 at Cootamundra, New

South Wales. He is described as 5ft 9in. 154lbs with a Fair complexion, Blue

eyes and Fair hair. James saw service in France where he was admitted to

Hospital on the 21st April 1917 suffering from Trench Feet. He was transferred

to England and after recovery rejoined his Battalion in France on the 28th

October 1917. James was then wounded (gun shot wound both legs) in action

in the field on the 22nd May 1918. He was invalided to England on the 27th

May 1918. He returned to Australia on the 14th February 1919 and was

discharged from service on the 13th September 1919.
