He married Caroline Ester Cheetham  January 25, 1899 in St Paul's Church Adelong, New South

Wales, daughter of Albert Cheetham and Martha Blackburn.  She was born November 15, 1879

in Calafat, Victoria, and died July 06, 1958 in Cootamundra District Hospital, New South Wale.

Ernest enlisted with the A.I.F. on the 28th December 1915 at Liverpool, Sydney.

He is described as 5ft 10 1/2in 150lbs with a Fresh complexion, Blue eyes and

Brown hair. Ernest saw all his service in Egypt. He was promoted to Lance

Corporal on March 22 1919. He returned to Australia on the 3rd August 1919

and was discharged from service on the 18th September 1919.
