         19.  Stanley George Harvey5 Goodfellow (George4, Charles3, George2, Adam1) was born 28

June 1897 in Wanstead, Essex, England, and died 10 June 1982. 

He married Edith Ellen Pearce 30 January 1918 in Registry Office, Hackney, London, England. 

She was born 06 March 1897 in St Olave Southwark Reg., Surrey, England, and died 23 February

1975.

 

Notes for Stanley George Harvey Goodfellow:

 WW1 Enlistment

Stanley enlisted for service on the 11th July 1915 at Mill Hill. He is described as 5ft 1in. Stanley

was appointed to the 22nd Battalion, Middlesex Regiment, Regimental No. 16197 & 27442. He was

promoted to Corporal on the 30th September 1915 and to acting Sergeant on the 25th November

1915 and to Sergeant on the 1st April 1916. Charles reverted to Private at his own request on the

10th October 1916. With B Company, 12th Battalion, Suffolk Regiment, he saw service in France

and was admitted to hospital with Trench Feet on the 5th January 1917. Charles rejoined the 12th

Battalion in France on the 4th July 1917. He was then granted leave in the UK during January

1918. Charles rejoined his Battalion in France on the 6th May 1918 where he was wounded (shell

wound right arm) in action in the field on the 29th July 1918. He was admitted to hospital in

France. Charles again rejoined his Battalion on the 26th September 1918 and was wounded (shell

wound left arm) in action for the 2nd time on the 1st October 1918. He was transferred to England

and admitted to Hospital on the 5th October 1918. On demobilization he was transferred to Class Z

Army Reserve dated 11th February 1919.
