 WW1 Medical History

Charles enlisted for service on the 5th April 1914 at Grays, Essex. He is described as

5ft 8in. He was appointed to the 53rd Battalion, Essex Bty. R.F.A. Regimental No.

Corporal 880302. Charles saw service in France and Egypt. He was evacuated from

Egypt to England on the 11th February 1919 with Malaria and admitted to the 2nd

W.G.Hosp. Manchester then transferred to the Belmont Aux. Mil. Hospital Liverpool

on the 6th March 1919.  He was discharged from service on the 12th April 1919. He

was granted a pension as a result of having Malaria.

 WW1 Enlistment

Cecil enlisted for service on the 20th January 1916 at Warley, Essex. He was appointed

to D Company, No. 16 Platoon, 6th Battalion,The Essex Border Regiment, Regimental

No. Private 27562. Cecil saw service in France where he was wounded (gun shot sound

left leg and both hands) in action in the field. He had his left leg amputated. He was

invalided to the UK and admitted to the 3rd Scottish General Hospital, Glasgow. Cecil

was discharged from service on the 5th April 1918.
