on the 1st march 1895 at Aldershot, Hampshire. He is

appointed to the Royal
Engineers, Regimental No. 28923. He qualified as a Shoeing
Smith with the Army in 1896.
Arthur was transferred to 1st Class Army Reserve after
his 3 years of service on
the 28th February 1898. He was then recalled to the Army on
the 9th October 1899. Arthur
saw service in South
Africa (28th October 1899 - 12th
April 1900). He died at
Cape Town on the
12th April 1900 of Fever
