The 1851 Census shows that Charles was an Agricultural Labourer (probobly working at 

Ganbrook Farm) and was born in Wiltshire,

the actual place is almost impossible to read  and could be something like Pickton, or

 Pitcombe, or even Pitchcombe (none of which exist in Wiltshire)

His wife Harriet is shown a being born in Ozelworth in Gloucestershire (near Wooton-under-

Edge) (from David Schweizer)

Given his age and place of birth on the census - this ties in with Charles Baptism being 1787

in Tidcombe.

3.  EDWARD2 WHITCHER (RICHARD1) was born 1785 in Tidcombe, Wiltshire, England.
